Nigeria Fela Anikulapo Kuti begins his musical carieer with the High-life style. Young Fela Kuti became then a panafricanist activist and evolved to a new genre, with less jazzy and more african rythms : Afrobeat. Despite censorship and tyrannical regimes that martyred him, Fela's success got durable and international. His numerous records were reissued after his death (1997) in the 2000's. His sons Femi and Seun Kuti took over. Afrobeat is not just an irresistible rhythmic repetitive music with few chords.
