Ivory Coast Traditional dance of Ivory-Coast that was forbidden at the ivorian TV because of its "indecency". In despite of the prohibition Mapouka's success grew so much that each week there is competitions and demos in Abidjan nightclubs. Its popularity has crossed borders from long ago. Mapouka serré is a kind of bottom dance. The dancer moves her rump intermittently, one buttock after the other, in a very fast way, while keeping hips still. There is also a "minister Mapouka" which is a male dance reserved to homosexuels. Twerk is a variation of Mapouka. see www.youtube.com
